My 19.5 craftsman kohler underwent mayor surgery this summer. needing new fuel pump.$100.00
new plugs $10.00 voltage regulator $90.00
battery $60.00 it would start strong and run for about 10 minutes fine , when I shut it off briefly and try to start up again it wouldn't. new fuel filer $5.00 new fuel line about 2 1/2 ft of hose $5.00 NOTHING happened . then after talking to the old timers in my area the IE HARD CRAFTSMAN GUYS they tell me that the coil on this machines are sensitive to heat damage over the years I figure since i have invested a few hundred already what's another $130.00 as soon as i installed it it run like a champ to this day I have not have a single problem . If you are having problems with starting your unit replace the coil before any thing else, I wish I had started there. I'm satisfied to have saved up my gt 6000 from a horrible death of ignorance or worst have some shyster take my money for unnecessary repairs . I installed a HD craftsman dozer blade in front of it and have cleaned lots of snow and ice from my driveway as well as from my neighbors their diesel units froze when the temp reached -8F about 3 weeks ago new tires chains and weights another $425.00
this machine has costs me a few bucks here lately
I had a guy offer me $1400.00 forget about I replied to him. My craftsman gt may be old on the outside but purrs like a new one without the $3500.00 price he was Q outed at sears for a new comparable unit with a blade weights and chains not assembled or delivered. Hang on to your old GT fellows don't loose faith invest a little remember our machines where made in America by us not by the Chinese or some 50 cent per hour employee in some factory who knows where. I sincerely hope this long story will hell someone out there in America or else where to use your ingenuity to fix your old craftsman alive.

My Sears Craftsman 2003 DYT4000 with the B&S 18.5 engine died last week. A mower repair shop said the engines go for $850+install labor. However, a GT-4000 18-twin was sitting in his salvage mower yard. He offered to put that on my machine for a mere $425. Adobe premiere pro windows 7 crack key. Sound good to me since a new mower with the same option would cost over $3500. Well, just got it home today. What a major improvement. That engine runs much quieter, more torque and the blades are not as noisy compared to the old engine.
The good thing is, the Kohler Twin 18 has low run time for a 1997. Jumped on this thread and other tractor forums to learn more about the engine. Glad that my DYT4000 deck is a better machine mated now to a great engine. Guess I got a sweet blend of hardware now. Looking for years of fun use ahead.
